AG to Investigate Alleged Contract Mismanagement at UH
The University of Hawaii has announced that the state Attorney General will conduct an investigation into scathing allegations involving UH construction contracts and procurement processes.
The AG will report its findings to the university’s Board of Regents upon completing the investigation. That’s about as much information as the UH is providing.
The allegations came from local engineer Dennis Mitsunaga and accuse Brian Minaai, associate vice president for capital improvements, of “blatant mismanagement,” including the loss of what could add up to millions of taxpayer dollars.
