Public Asked to Report Malfunctioning Sirens

The monthly test of emergency sirens is today (Thursday) at 11:45 a.m. — and county officials want the public to report any that don’t work right.

On Saturday, during the tsunami warning, there were several problems with sirens not working on the Big Island and some incidents of sirens failing to sound at all on Oahu.

KITV reports: 

The combination of human error and equipment failure is what officials believe was behind the delay in warning sirens Saturday night.
