Sierra Club: PLDC = GrandTheftAina
Clever moniker for the Hawaii Sierra Club’s new campaign to repeal the PLDC.
Our Landblog reports:
The Hawaii Sierra Club is taking the attacks against the Public Land Development Corporation to a new level.
On Wednesday, the environmental group launched a website called GrandTheftAina.com, which lists the positions of candidates running or elected to state office on the PLDC.
From a Sierra Club press release:
“The Sierra Club and its members have gone to great lengths to work with the PLDC, including proposing ways to reasonably improve the draft administrative rules,” said Robert D. Harris, Director of the Sierra Club, Hawaii Chapter. “These suggestions have largely been ignored. With the PLDC’s recent efforts to exclude the public from commenting and the adoption of a toothless strategic plan, it appears our only alternative is to push for a repeal of the PLDC.”
