UHERO to Host Forum on Hawaii Economy, Environment

The University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization (UHERO) is hosting a forum Monday (Oct. 29) on Hawaii’s economy and environment.

Conference organizers are bringing together local and national experts to talk about state and city tax policies, economic development, sustainability, renewable energy and the economics of local food production.

Here’s a look at the keynotes: 

    • Gene Huang, chief economist and vice president, FedEx: “In Search of System Understanding and Control - The Case of US and China”
    • Christina Romer, former chair, White House Council of Economic Advisers: “Headwinds, Possible Hurricanes and Hope: Economic Prospects for 2013”
