Pedestrian Overpass Collapses, Moanalua Freeway Shutdown

The Moanalua Freeway has been shut down in both directions in Aiea after construction equipment knocked a 20-30 foot section of a pedestrian overpass. 

KITV has a picture, and this report: 

Part of the overpass, located near Aiea Elementary School, has fallen onto the freeway. Police are beginning to close down access to the west and eastbound lanes.

City officials say it was a forklift boom that hit the overpass, knocking out a  20-30 foot section of the pedestrian overpass.

EMS confirms no one was injured in the crash.
