UH Regents To Discuss Greenwood’s Fate

The future of UH President M.R.C. Greenwood is the sole agenda item in a closed-door meeting by the Board of Regents Friday (Oct. 12).

The meeting will be held a 2 p.m. at the medical school in Kakaako.

KITV has this report:

The Board of Regents called the meeting after lawmakers grilled Greenwood about the athletic department’s bungling of a concert fundraiser and her response to the slip-up. …

The board’s conversations will be closed to the public because members will be discussing personnel issues.

Lawmakers grilled Greenwood last week about a Stevie Wonder concert the athletic department planned but the singer never authorized.

The university wired $200,000 to a company claiming to represent Wonder, only to hear later from the artist’s real agents. The university hasn’t been able to recover the money.
