More Tsunami Debris on Hawaii Shore?
Big Island media are reporting that a towering metal “pontoon” has washed up on the shore at Naalehu on Hawaii Island.
A huge, metal “pontoon” has washed up on the rocky shore of Naalehu. Big Island Video News says there’s no word yet from the Department of Land and Natural Resources on the origin of the debris. You can read the story — along with links to other reports — here. And a video, too.
The pontoon is about 12 feet tall and 20 feet long, according to the reports, and people wonder if its a support for a floating dock. In recent weeks, a floating dock thought to be from the March 2011 Japan tsunami appeared off the coast of Molokai but searchers later couldn’t find it again.
