Hawaii County Clerk Jamae Kawauchi has agreed to participate in a series of workshops that will aim to smooth out any elections-related wrinkles on the Big Island.
The state Office of Elections proposed the workshops, which will be attended by all the county clerks and other elections officials.
“Everyone has specific challenges, everyone has found effective solutions,” said state elections spokesperson Rex Quidilla. “This an opportunity for the election community to come together and help a colleague.”
Quidilla said this type of arrangement is unprecedented.
Elections officials have yet to work out a date, but Kawauchi has proposed the week of Sept. 17.
