Tulsi Gabbard Resigns From Honolulu City Council
As the shoo-in to represent Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District, Tulsi Gabbard this morning announced she was resigning.
Excerpts from a press release:
She noted that holding a special mail-in election for a vacated Council seat would cost taxpayers up to $150,000.
“I have been honored to serve the constituents of district six, but I will not leave taxpayers to foot the bill for a separate election. Instead, by resigning now, a new council member will be selected during the Nov. 6 general election,” Gabbard said.
