The crowd has dwindled, the band has gone, and empty plates and cups scatter the Case election headquarters.
“The toughest thing about losing is feeling like you let others down, and that’s how I feel now,” Ed Case said.
He said he felt shocked when he saw the first round of results, but still held out hope that he would be able to cut the deficit in half in the second round.
“I’m deeply disappointed, not so much for myself as for the thousands of people who supported me,” he said.
