9:29 p.m. — Carlisle Concedes

Peter Carlisle told a small contingent of supporters that he will keep the rail project moving forward until his last day in office in January. 

After announcing that he was  conceding the mayoral race to Ben Cayetano and Kirk Caldwell, Carlisle thanked supporters for their energy and effort. 

He said he now plans to drive over to congratulate Cayetano and Caldwell at their campaigns’ headquarters. 

The band has stopped playing and the chairs are being put away. “Carlisle for Mayor” signs rest against tables littered with leftover food. 

And the rain has literally started to fall.
