Pro-Rail Forces Attack Cayetano Over Teacher Strike

Pro-rail forces are stepping up their attacks against Ben Cayetano’s legacy as Hawaii governor.

Inside Honolulu reports:

They’re not backing down in the face of criticism.

The same group behind the controversial commercial highlighting Cayetano’sillegal campaign contributions today released its second TV spot of the season.

This one’s about Cayetano’s “war on teachers” and focuses on the 2001 strike. Though the Department of Education is a state agency and Cayetano wouldn’t have any control over it as mayor, Read Ben’s Record (part of the pro-rail Pacific Resource Partnership) says it doesn’t want to see his style of leadership at Honolulu Hale.

Tuesday, Cayetano came out swinging against the first commercial from Read Ben’s Record. Leaders at the Campaign Spending Commission said the group is lying about the facts. Read that story here: Former Campaign Chief In Town To Back Cayetano
